Our client is one of the world's largest corporation. It serves many of the world's best-run organizations including multinationals, governments, charities and entrepreneurial companies. They were in need of a tool which can track and manage their audit documents more efficiently.
As a prime contractor, Intelysys brought in a team of developers who created an Audit Room application for them so that they can easily and more efficiently track and manage all their audit documents. Audit Room enables corporate tax to manage audits more efficiently and with significantly improved visibility and results. Unlike other similarly marketed products, Audit Room is easy to set up and benefits can be reaped almost immediately.
Audit Room tracks comprehensive audit information in a central location making it significantly easier for the tax staff to manage their Tax documents. All the important audit-related documents can be stored and retrieved using the Add Documents module. Multiple Rooms and Users can be added, different users can be assigned to different rooms. Documents can be made global so that all the users can view those documents. Rooms can be archived, unarchived or made inactive.

All supporting documentation can be stored with the originating document itself thereby eliminating the need to search for the supporting documents. he burden of document retention and maintaining document history are automated and simplified by Audit Room. Our client is one of the world's largest corporation. It serves many of the world's best-run organizations including multinationals, governments, charities and entrepreneurial companies. They were in need of an application over the internet which can manage all the Projects, Customer Relationship, Human Resource and Reporting Module.
As a prime contractor, Intelysys brought in a team of developers to develop an internet application to manage a company with ease and flexibility. Also where all the office information will be at one place in a systematic manner. GE IT Department Management System (ITDMS) application is delivered as services over the internet, running in most cases within the user's web browser. It is, by design and necessity, much simpler than traditional "desktop apps," and because it runs on the internet it is in many ways more conducive to collaboration among many users. They are also, in general, very easy to use.
What will be attractive to end users - at least a sizable number of them - is to extend the usefulness of the traditional office suite through the addition of web-based tools and interfaces. The key is to extend both functionality and interoperability without taking away any of the capabilities that users currently rely on or expect. Reducing interoperability or functionality is a non-starter, for the end user as well as the IT departments that want to avoid annoying the end user. You screw up with everything at your own risk.
Driving the shift will be the desire of companies, filtered through their IT staffs, to dramatically simplify their IT infrastructure. Mature web-based applications don't require local hardware, or local installation and maintenance, or local trouble-shooting, or local upgrading - they reduce costs and increase flexibility. Tax File Room
Our client is one of the world's largest corporation. It serves many of the world's best-run organizations including multinationals, governments, charities and entrepreneurial companies. They were in need of a few applications for archiving and searching of tax filing related information for our client's internal users.
As a prime contractor, Intelysys brought in a team of 4 developers to Develop, Design and Code all the Tax File Room applications. The Tax File room provides web-enabled functionality for archiving and searching of tax filing related information for our client's internal users. The current Tax File room system was implemented in Lotus Notes and Domino. The current application has scalability limitations and had has functional in-capabilities. There are several users of the application such as Interns, Tax consultant, legal representatives.
The scope of work is
- Study and analyze, in detail, of the functional requirements of the Tax File room application.
- Carry out the high level for the application.
- Develop Design guidelines, User Interface guidelines, wire frames, coding standards if any
- Carry out development, unit testing, system testing, integration testing, and performance testing.
- Develop test case for functional testing.
- Design and Develop Data model.
- Creating loads for file room database and other external databases.
- Develop graphic and aesthetic design
- Creating test data for the integration/system testing.
- Implementation of single sign-on.
- Support in user acceptance and implementation.
The Tax File Room application has the following limitations.
- The application is not robust and scalable
- Users face a lot of issues uploading attachments to the created documents in the database
- The attachments download takes a considerable amount of time.
- Attachments can only be attached one at a time and the application does not have the functionality to attach several attachments at once. There is no drag and drop facility for performing document attachment.
- Our client has made a policy decision to standardize on Linux/JBOSS as the enterprise application platform.
The development of Tax File room application will be carried out in a hybrid onshore and offshore model. The current solution for this application was developed on J2EE/JBoss environment, and using J2EE tier structure such as Client tier, Presentation tier, Business tier, Integration tier and Resource tier. The client tier consists of HTML, DHTML and Javascript.
The presentation tier is based on developing a web interface to J2EE platform, using Spring MVC, Hibernate and Java Server Faces and other open source projects. The business tier and integration tier use standard design patterns such as Command Pattern, Business delegate pattern, Data Access pattern, Value Object, Value list Handler etc.
The unit and integration
Intelysys developed the next version of Tax File room application on the J2EE and JBoss platform. In addition, the application will have n-tiered model with the following features:
- Client layer comprising HTML GUI
- Migrate the current web interface to J2EE platform, using JBoss/SpringMVC/Hibernate/JSF
- Business Logic built using Java beans and Enterprise Java Beans (if required) based on a J2EE model on JBOSS Application Server.
- Develop searching capabilities for the current File Room form content and excel attachment files, using Open Source Lucene search engine technologies.
- Create operating system environment by installing all the necessary software
- Oracle 9i acting as the data store.
- Design the Oracle database schema
- Design and optimize database queries based on the business rules from the functional spec.
- Migrating existing data from Lotus Notes server to Oracle database server.
- Provide batch uploading capabilities for the scanned PDF files
- Reduce the time needed to view a large PDF file attachment.
